Beer Pong

Rules

GENERAL

  • Two players per team on each side of the table
  • 10 cups on each side of the table set up in a triangle towards the center (4, 3, 2, 1)
  • Each player shoots once per turn
  • If ball rolls back on the table after a shot to the shooting team, the shooter can throw behind the back or on their non-dominant hand
  • No NBA Jams or On Fire rules

SUBSTITUTIONS

  • Teams with more than 2 players are allowed to substitute players at the beginning of each turn as they please

ELBOWS

  • Elbows must not cross the edge of the table while shooting. If they cross, the shot does not count.

RERACKING/FIXING

  • Each team is allowed two re-racks
  • Re-racks can only be used at the beginning of a turn before a shot is made (balls back does not count as a new turn)
  • Cups can be "fixed" or "tightened up" at any time at the request of the opposing team but cannot be moved away from its original rack/re-rack

START OF GAME

  • Eye to eye - One player of each team will shoot while looking the opposing player in the eye, teams will shoot until a cup is sunk, first team to make a cup shoots first.

GAMEPLAY

  • Ball lands in cup, cup can be pulled immediately and players currently in play owning the cup have to drink it
  • If both players each make a separate cup during the turn, both cups are pulled and balls are returned to the shooting team (Bouncing rule applies as normal)
  • If both players make the same cup before it is pulled (includes bounces), that cup plus two cups of the defending team's choice are pulled and the shooting team gets balls back

BOUNCING/SWATTING

  • If a player bounces a ball off the table and into a cup, that cup is pulled along with another cup of the defending team's choice.
  • Defending team is allowed to swat the ball away after it has hit the table once, if it is swatted before the bounce the shooting player shoots again.
  • Any cup knocked over by a swat is pulled from the game
  • Bouncing only counts as one cup when there are less than 3 cups remaining

REBUTTAL

  • Once the defending team's cups are gone, the defending team has an opportunity to shoot until they miss. If the defending team eliminates the remaining cups, the game goes into overtime

OVERTIME

  • Overtime is settled with a one cup per team, one shot per turn, sudden death shoot out
